Axle AI offers an integrated solution between its Axle AI 2022 MAM and Archiware’s P5 with Data Mover

Axle AI offers an integrated solution between its Axle AI 2022 MAM and Archiware’s P5 with Data
Mover at Stand 7.D20 (Global Distribution) and 7.D05 (Archiware)

Axle AI and Archiware are announcing the deployment of dozens of
sites worldwide for Axle AI’s integration with Archiware P5 media archiving software.

Axle AI 2022, the company’s flagship AI-powered media management solution, can catalog and
tag nearly any media on any combination of on-premise and cloud storage. Featuring an all-new
user interface with a dark theme, Axle AI 2022 offers several key AI/ML features including:

  1. integrated, highly affordable speech transcription ($1 per hour)
  2. integrated, fixed-cost face recognition ($200 per month, unlimited hours)
  3. integrated, fixed-cost logo recognition ($200 per month, unlimited hours)
  4. integrated, fixed-cost object recognition ($200 per month, unlimited hours)

Simultaneously, Archiware is introducing version 7.1 of its flagship P5 software
platform, including availability of the new P5 Data Mover extension. It offers policy-based
moving and copying of archived data between tape, cloud and disk storage. This HSM-like
extension offers flexibility for any storage strategy. Data can easily be migrated or copied
between storage tiers. A migration plan runs periodically and selects data according to a
predefined age. This way, users can automatically move data from hot storage to cold storage
and in any direction they need.

Additional features in the upcoming P5 version 7.1 cater towards data security, transfer and
access. Multifactor authentication provides an added layer of security. UNC path support enables
easy access to network source and target storage. The MHL checksum manifest of LTFS archived
data ensures that the source data has been saved and recovered without any alterations.

Pricing and availability

Unlike nearly every other MAM on the market, Axle AI MAM 2022 offers the ability to run both
the main MAM server application and accompanying AI/ML services entirely on premises, in a
hybrid cloud configuration, or in the cloud. This flexibility is critical for companies wary of the
escalating costs of all-cloud SaaS environments, where charges for storage, egress, processing
and AI/ML can quickly add up to thousands of dollars per month.

In addition, the companion Axle Connectr 2022 no-code workflow automation tool represents a
breakthrough in the user-friendly, graphical creation of simple yet powerful video workflows.
Pricing for deployments Axle AI 2022 and Axle Connectr 2022 starts well under $10,000 for
perpetual licenses, and under $300 per month for SaaS licenses.

Axle AI 2022, Axledit and Axle Connectr software is available through Axle AI’s reseller/integrator
network, featuring leading integrators such as Malaysia’s iPSB (Axle’s preferred partner in the
APAC region).

Larry Jordan’s In-Depth Review of Axle AI MAM: A Comprehensive Analysis

larry

Award-winning industry pro, Larry Jordan, just wrote a detailed review of our AI-powered media management software, Axle. AI. In this long form article, Larry takes a deep dive into the state of the MAM industry, what options are available to small- and mid-sized video production teams, and the ways Axle AI makes media management smarter – at an affordable price.

“Whether your media is stored on premise (NAS or direct attached drives), in the cloud, or a mix of both, Axle AI automatically catalogs your media where you’ve already saved it. No change to your file names or folder structures, and no clunky “check in” processes required.

axleai.com automatically generates metadata (labels) based on technical specs, plus supports customize metadata fields. It uses “Elastic Search” technology (similar to doing a Google search) so searches are performed using English, rather than arcane search terms.

Learn about the features of Axle AI, how Larry uses them in his own production workflow, and see specific examples of each use case in action. Also included is an interview with Axle AI CEO, Sam Bogoch, who discusses the advantages of our software and how it solves common pain points of video production teams across every industry.

Vidcon 2022 Unveils Axle AI’s Latest Launch: Axledit 1.1

Revolutionary collaborative editing platform meets the needs of the creator economy

EINPresswire.com/ — The creator economy is experiencing explosive growth, and industry leader Axle AI, Inc. has chosen this week’s VidCon US 2022 conference (booth #1310) as the venue to launch version 1.1 of its revolutionary Axledit collaborative editing platform. Unlike traditional video editing software, but like modern document editing tools like Google Docs, Axledit runs entirely in your browser and allows real-time collaboration between team members, clients and assistants. The system also features one-click publishing of high-res rendered videos to YouTube and Vimeo, without requiring a cumbersome download and upload of media files.

Axle’s solutions are uniquely affordable and built for the needs of content creators, from individual editors seeking to review content with to clients and collaborators, to larger “media factory” teams.

Here’s an overview of the new features in Axledit 1.1:

· You can now upload entire folders, not just individual files, via drag and drop.
· It’s much faster to preview and share, as video and audio are now available via Review Links, even before they’re fully ready for editing.
· New 30-second tutorial videos (when you first login, and playable anytime via the help bubble)
· More compact list view, so you can see more items on the same size window
· New selection box for the file list
· Password protection for review links
· Archive projects to Axledit Tera, a new affordable cloud storage option based on Seagate‘s Lyve Cloud.
• Optional on-premise gateway allows you to search and pull from large existing media repositories on network attached storage (NAS) devices.

There is a worldwide explosion of video content. In an IDC report, the market intelligence firm estimated that the sum of data generated globally by 2025 is set to accelerate exponentially to nearly 180 zettabytes. A growing, double-digit percentage of this storage is used to house media files. Meanwhile, over 500,000 video teams worldwide are responsible for editing, managing and publishing this content.

Axledit 1.1 allows the unique capability of editing and even rendering directly from archived material in the cloud. Unlike existing cloud services which only allow media to be retrieved from archive in a cumbersome, slow process, Axledit 1.1’s Tera feature offers immediate access with no egress fees allowing unlimited, realtime access to HD and 4K footage as well as high resolution images and audio files saved on Axledit Tera.

Sam Bogoch, CEO of Axle AI, said “For years, creative teams have expressed the need for a simplified and cost-efficient way to store, search and edit their content. Legacy solutions for broadcasters have been expensive and complex, but Axledit 1.1 brings revolutionary browser-based editing to everyone in the creator economy.”

Axledit provides for easy export of media, XMLs a nd EDLs to traditional editing software. The company is currently developing a panel for Adobe’s Premiere Pro editor that will allow one-button imports of media and sequences into the Premiere Pro timeline; the beta test program will begin in July and potential beta testers are invited to email info@axle.ai.

In addition to its booth #1310 at VidCon, directly across from Blackmagic, Axle AI will be demonstrating Axledit 1.1 at the TechCrunch Summer Party in Menlo Park, and on a global webinar with Seagate and Archiware on June 30th – signup is at https://www.seagate.com/promos/lyve-cloud-digital-media-repository-webinar/.

Pricing and Availability
Axledit 1.1 is available immediately at a starting price of $10 per user per month plus $12 per terabyte per month. A higher user tier offers additional integrations and capabilities, at $50 per user per month plus $12 per terabyte per month. Both pricing tiers include all Axledit collaborative features including multi-editor timeline editing, version locking, review and approval from mobile devices. Additional capabilities, such as cataloging large on-premise media storage with the aid of machine learning (Axle AI 2022) or automating repetitive workflow tasks and integrating third-party REST APIs (Axle Connectr) are available at additional cost.

Axle AI MAM Search & Editing platform meets XenData X100 Active Archive

Joint solutions provide cost-effective archiving and media repurposing for video content

EINPresswire.com/ — Axle AI, the leading independent developer of media search and collaborative editing software (NAB booth N4816), and XenData, the provider of highly scalable cutting-edge data storage solutions (NAB booth N1516) , are launching support within Axle AI 2022 for XenData’s X100 active archive. The resulting combination of browser-based search, media management, AI tagging and editing platform with robust back end storage facilities is ideal for creative video, medical imaging, video surveillance and other applications with high volumes of large files.

Axle AI’s media management software is deployed at over 800 customers worldwide, including leading media companies such as Paramount, Warner Bros. and NBC Universal. The X100 is powered by XenData Archive Series software which is trusted by over 1,500 organizations in over 90 countries, including many of the world’s largest media companies. Dramatic industry consolidation over the last 18 months – with companies such as Masstech, Levels Beyond, CatDV, Primestream and DIVA being acquired – has left Axle AI and XenData in strong positions to gain market share in high-capacity media storage applications.

In addition to market changes, technology is having a rapid impact on the space. Traditionally, large media repositories have needed extensive manual tagging to make video, audio and image content searchable. Axle AI 2022 employs powerful machine learning to create rich metadata for media files, automatically. These include Axle Speech (speech transcription for $1 per hour of footage), Axle Tags (face recognition, object recognition and logo recognition), and Axle OCR functionality to extract text from images and PDFs. This opens major new market segments to the Axle AI/XenData combination, ones which would have previously required prohibitive amounts of labor to make the video searchable.

Axle AI 2022 supports server configurations with Linux and MacOS as well as Windows (via VMware). Apple’s latest Mac Studio hardware, with 10 or 20 powerful CPU cores in a compact desktop package, is an ideal low-cost engine for deployments of Axle AI 2022. The media management solution accesses the Xendata X100 via 10 Gigabit Ethernet and XenData’s XML API, for a seamless user experience across the two products.

The streamlined, elegant Axle AI 2022 user interface is accessed via the browsers of multiple users, who can search, manage and collaborate around huge media repositories without needing to know any technical details of how the back end is managed. In addition, the new www.axledit.com collaborative editing platform and Axle AI’s Premiere panel allow media to be dragged directly into the timeline of both cloud-based editing and traditional on-premise editing for Mac or Windows.

The X100 archive strongly adheres to standards. It supports writing to LTO cartridges using LTFS and writes to ODA cartridges using the Sony interchange standard. It fully supports the Microsoft security model based on Active Directory, making it easy to install in an existing Windows domain; likewise, Axle AI 2022 also supports Active Directory for user authentication.

Multiple X100 systems may be synchronized using XenData’s Multi-Site Sync service which links multiple archives in different locations, creating a single global file system accessible from anywhere. As soon as a file is archived to LTO or ODA at one location, it becomes available as a stub file within the global file system. When a user makes a change by writing, overwriting or deleting a file, that change is propagated to all locations. This provides a consistent up-to-date set of files across the entire distributed organization.

Sam Bogoch, Axle AI CEO, commented, “The design of the X100 is based on everything the XenData team have learned from the 1500+ XenData archives that have been installed worldwide. It uses a simple architecture which takes advantage of the power of today’s multi-processor servers.”

ATTO Thunderbolt adapters, Apple Mac Studios and Axle AI media management software bundled for a powerhouse, one-stop media management and production solution

EINPresswire.com/ — ATTO Technology, the world’s premier provider of storage and network connectivity solutions, join cloud software vendor Axle AI in announcing for NAB Show 2022 the availability of high-performance media management solution bundles for 4K and 8K workflows. Best of all, these complete solutions plug directly into a wide range of SAN and NAS networking configurations, with no custom configuration required. There is a worldwide explosion of video content. The market intelligence firm IDC has estimated that the sum of data generated globally by 2025 is set to accelerate exponentially to 175 zettabytes. A growing, double-digit percentage of this storage is used to house media files. Meanwhile, over 500,000 video teams worldwide are responsible for capturing, editing, and managing this content, but much of it becomes difficult to leverage soon after capture; in a report commissioned by Seagate, IDC estimates that more than two-thirds of data stored is not readily searchable or available for access after initial use.

Sam Bogoch, CEO of Axle AI, said “With a return to on-premise and hybrid work, the performance of storage solutions for 4K and 8K video postproduction is more important than ever. We’re excited to be partnering with ATTO, a foundational leader in high-performance storage connectivity, and Apple to deliver the fastest possible storage solutions to address these needs.”

Tim Klein, President/CEO, ATTO Technology, said “Axle has been pioneering affordable media management for a decade now, and their new Axledit hybrid cloud gives intensive editing teams a way to collaborate remotely that wasn’t possible before. Revolutionary cloud video editor unveiled at SXSW 2022

A highlight of the return to in-person conferences is the SXSW unveiling of Axledit, a collaborative cloud video editor available in Free and professional plans.

AUSTIN, TX, USA, March 11, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — The boom in video use for social media and marketing has been paralleled by swift migration to the cloud. As South By Southwest returns for 2022, Axle AI is publicly unveiling Axledit, a revolutionary new browser-based video editor with integrated collaboration, search, and publishing features, in booth 716, from March 13th through 16th.

Sam Bogoch, Axle AI’s CEO, said “South By Southwest 2022 marks the return of the creative community to in-person conferences, and we’re thrilled to be demoing Axledit in person for the first time.” It offers a fluid, radically simple browser interface, and user pricing tiers of Free, $10/month and $50/month. Users can sign up directly from the Axledit website. Yet it provides a level of power and control previously only available to editing solutions running on laptops and workstations. You can also export your sequences from Axledit to software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer and Apple Final Cut Pro.

“What makes Axledit so intriguing” said industry expert Larry Jordan, “is that it couples a media asset management back-end with a simple video editing interface at the front. While not a replacement for a stand-alone NLE, it makes new kinds of cloud-based video collaboration possible.”

Axledit’s unique collaboration features allow not only browser-based review and approval by producers and clients, but also simultaneous editing sessions with a shared view of the current state of the timeline and playback. This capability is especially important in a world where remote work has become not only accepted, but the overwhelming choice of content professionals industrywide.

Other key Axledit features include:

  • Professional-style timeline with multiple audio and video tracks
  • High speed, interrupt-resilient uploads of huge video files
  • Effects and transitions
  • Powerful sequence versioning
  • The ability to directly import stock video content
  • Access to Axle AI on-premise and cloud media management servers

Direct publishing of edits to YouTube and Vimeo is another standout feature of Axledit, allowing creators to manage, edit and publish their content directly to these leading platforms without ever having to download large media files, edit them or upload finished media to the cloud. Axledit is available immediately, at www.axledit.com.

Simultaneously, Axle AI is announcing the release of Axle AI 2022, its flagship AI-powered media management solution which can catalog and tag nearly any media on any combination of on-premise and cloud storage. Featuring an all-new user interface with a Dark theme, Axle AI 2022 offers several key features including:

1. Integrated, super-affordable speech transcription ($1 per hour)
2. Integrated, fixed-cost face recognition
3. Integrated, fixed-cost logo recognition
4. Integrated, fixed-cost object recognition

Together, Axledit and Axle AI 2022 offer a complete solution to the needs of remote media teams who capture, edit, search and repurpose large amounts of video.

Pricing and Availability

Axledit is available immediately on a monthly licensed basis. Available tiers are Free, $10 per user per month and $50 per user per month. In addition, an Enterprise tier is available with a number of key features including hybrid cloud/on-premise configurations, and workflow automations. Complete, private instances of the Axledit cloud back end are also available on request for clients such as content studios who wish to have a ‘walled garden’ version specific to their network. All Axledit and Axle AI 2022 products are available through Axle AI’s reseller/integrator network, featuring leading integrators such as Malaysia’s iPSB (Axle’s preferred partner in the APAC region).

How to Add Royalty-Free Stock Media To Your Edits In The Cloud

Sometimes when you’re editing you need an extra video clip or motion graphic to improve or elevate the video. That’s why we’ve built a stock media integration that allows you to drag and drop clips into your sequence and use royalty-free.

The stock library includes over 2 million images, videos, and graphics that are ready to use and can be dragged and dropped into your sequences.

How to Add Stock Media to Your Video

Adding stock video, images, motion graphics, and backgrounds to your videos is easy:

  • Select Stock Media and Graphics from the hierarchy to browse what’s available
  • In the stock list on the right, type text in the Search Bar and press enter to see results matching your search
  • Select a category of stock in the Category Dropdown to the right of the search bar, such as Images, Video, or Motion Graphics.
  • In the editor, when you find a stock clip to use, drag and drop it from the stock list to your sequence

We’re working on expanding the amount and types of elements available to use. If there’s a specific type of element you would like added, let us know!

To start editing for free and give the stock media feature a try, click the button below:

How to Create Your Own Green (or Blue) Screen Effects

Create your own green screen effects with the color key filter. It’s rendered live in your web browser for easy previewing.

Using the Color Key filter is an easy way to remove the background from a video with a solid color. The best part is it’s rendered live in your web browser, without needing to wait to see the results.

You can choose from tons of pre-made stock footage that has a green background for easy removal, or create your own.

If you want to shoot your own footage, you can buy a bright green sheet from any retailer. We’re fans of this Emergency Green Screen blanket which is a fun item to keep around. Make sure to light the green screen evenly to keep the colors consistent, and have your subject stand far enough away from the screen that they aren’t hit with too much green light bouncing off the green screen. Also, the higher resolution you can record with your camera, the better the result since there will be more pixels to work with.

blue screen
Blue screen effects are easy with the Color Key filter

When you bring the footage into a sequence, drag and drop the Color Key filter onto it and adjust the settings. You can choose what color to remove, how to handle similar colors, and how much blending there should be.

If you don’t have an account, you can sign up for free and try out the Color Key effects yourself!

Animating photos is as easy as drag and drop

Our goal is to make the video editing process as easy as possible, and our team is constantly walking the line between adding advanced features while keeping them easy to use.

To give editors on our platform a way to animate photos and videos, while keeping it simple and fast, we added the Animated Zoom filter you can drag and drop onto your clips.

Animated Zoom

The Animated Zoom filter can be found under Effects + Transitions, and can be dragged and dropped onto any video or image in your sequence.

In the Effects Settings for the clip, under the Filters tab, you can adjust a few settings. Choose the Point of Interest, which is the position on the clip that will be zoomed into. You can also choose the Amount, which is how much zoom should be applied, and you can Reverse the effect to Zoom out.

There are no keyframes to worry about, and the filter automatically adjusts when you trim the clip (shortening or lengthening it) so the effect always runs the entirety of the clip. One big headache with animating photos in other editing platforms is needing to adjust keyframes after trimming, but with this filter those headaches are gone.

Give the filter a try and let us know what you think. And if you haven’t tried the video editor before, sign up for free and see how easy video editing and management can be!

Axle AI, AI Powered MAM, Makes Indian Media Smarter

Quidich, in Mumbai, benefits from Axle AI’s leading-edge remote video search technology; Axle AI retains Yogesh Sardana to grow and manage India business.

MUMBAI, INDIA, June 24, 2021 – EINPresswire.comAxle AI, the company whose slogan is “Making Media Smarter” has announced a high-profile customer win at Quidich Innovation Labs, a technology firm specializing in media tech for sports broadcasters. “It’s pretty exciting in that it’s helped us build a new vertical of our business, with stock footage. It’s a time saver for everyone, especially our clients” said Rahat Kulshreshtha, Founder and CEO of Quidich. “Now, what earlier took us 4 or 5 hours – where somebody needed footage from a particular location, area or monument – now takes us a matter of minutes. Earlier, all that footage was sitting on hard drives in our office – now, it’s available to anyone across the globe with high efficiency”.

In addition, Axle AI have hired Yogesh Sardana, a seasoned industry professional with over a decade’s experience representing Promise, Quantum and Tata Elxsi. Also based in Mumbai, Sardana is expected to rapidly build Axle AI’s partner and customer network throughout India.

Axle AI is browser-based hybrid cloud software that helps teams access, search and collaborate with locally-stored or cloud media, and handle a mix of local and remote workflow seamlessly. The product’s AI-driven features include automated speech transcription and face recognition, with other capabilities under development. Custom tags are also supported so that tagging by editors, producers and assistants can be employed to complement the automated AI-based tagging. Other features include high-speed file transfer capabilities, integrated transcription for video and audio, and support for a wide range of professional camera formats.

The company also offers Connectr AI, a highly modular no-code workflow builder for media automation. Together, axleai.com and Connectr ai are often deployed instead of complex, monolithic MAM solutions that have been far too expensive for most media teams to adopt. Unlike MAMs, axleai.com and Connectr AI work with existing file organizations, formats and storage (both on-premise and cloud) to ensure maximum flexibility for creative media organizations. The products have seen strong demand in sports teams and venues, corporate, university, religious and government applications in addition to traditional broadcasters.

“We’re excited to have the highly positive feedback from our customer at Quidich, and by bringing Yogesh Sardana on board we continue to accelerate adoption of our revolutionary media platform in the Indian market”, said Axle AI CEO Sam Bogoch.

How to Share a Video Editing Project

One of the most complicated parts of the video editing process is when you need to share work with a team, especially if they are spread out geographically. Transferring large amounts of media, keeping track of project versions, converting formats, and unending email chains can cause headaches for even the most seasoned post production expert. Even a simple edit with just a few files can easily become a nightmare to keep track of project versions.

We created the platform to address these pains and modernize video collaboration. A single place where people can use a web browser to edit, collaborate, and publish their videos. The video editor is fast, easy to use, and the only non-linear video editor that runs in a web browser and has real-time collaboration.

Sharing the same project

collaborative video editing on Libravid

The first problem that needed to be solved was allowing everyone on a team to edit the same project at the same time. Tools like Google Docs have enabled that with documents for years, but only a few high-end video editing solutions offered that and none were cloud-based. You had to be in the same office on the same network.

With the collaboration tools on the platform, everyone is seeing the video edits — and changes to those edits — in real-time. You can divide and conquer different sections of a video, or simply watch the cut while someone else works, giving instant feedback and vastly shortening the amount of time to get approval.

Here’s how to share your project with your team:
  1. Use the New menu when browsing a folder to create a new sequence
  2. Right click the sequence and choose “Edit”
  3. When hovering the mouse over a video, you can press the i and o keys to set in and out points on the video. This will set the time range for the video when you drag it into the sequence.
  4. Drag and drop videos into the sequence. You can adjust the timing of videos by dragging the ends of each clip to resize them.
  5. Any users you’ve invited to your Workspace can also open and edit the sequence, and will see your updates as you make them. They can add or update clips too, and their avatar line will show you their location in the timeline.
  6. If you don’t want your team members to change anything in your sequence, you can click the lock icon to lock the sequence. Then, they can only copy and paste clips out of your sequence, but can’t edit anything in it.
  7. If you want to save the current version of the sequence, click the ... menu on the sequence panel and choose “Save new version.” Then you can select which version you want to see by clicking the version dropdown menu next to the sequence name.

You can always go back to previous versions, and easily duplicate sequences if necessary.

That’s just scratching the surface of what you can do with the platform. To see how much time the browser-based video editor can save your team, sign up for free and give it a try. Let us know what you think, too. We’re always looking to improve the service, and can’t wait to hear your feedback as we build the platform.

Real-time collaboration for video is here

Up until now, the collaboration tools for video mostly focused on work after the video was edited, and not the actual editing process. But the editing process is where the majority of time is spent, and thus where the majority of time savings is possible.

That’s why we built the platform — to accelerate the editing process and create the most value for video creators. We built the multi-user video editor from the ground up so that anyone can see the edits as they are made, make changes, and all be on the same page.

In the video editor, two editors can edit a sequence at once, sharing the work and seeing each other’s changes in real-time. Or, open someone else’s sequence, copy the clips you need, and paste them into your own. You can also lock your sequence to prevent anyone else from accidentally making changes. You have full control over your edit and the level of sharing.

The full editing workflow, streamlined.

real time

Post production involves many steps, and we built the platform to address each of those steps and keep things moving as fast as possible.

Teams can upload footage and other files from anywhere in the world, using our accelerated multi-part uploader. Pause and resume uploads, reorder them, and even rename/move files while they are being uploaded.

Assistant editors, producers, and clients can log footage, pull selects, apply custom metadata, and tag files that are automatically sorted into Collections. The media organization process can happen from anywhere, simultaneously.

The editor (or multiple editors) can edit using a web browser and everyone will see the updates in real time. We built our collaborative video editor to be easy to use, fast, and light-weight enough to run in a browser.

If the editor wants to use their own editing program like Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro X, they can start with the rough cut made in the cloud, export an FCP XML or EDL, and work on their own machine. A producer on the west coast (without any of the footage on their computer) can make a rough cut of the interview selects they want, and the editor on the east coast (with the footage) can download the cut and begin working. Imagine no more shipping drives back and forth!

The video editor includes multiple filters and transitions, supports video and images with alpha channel, and renders effects live for smooth playback. We’re always adding more filters and transitions, so if you don’t see one you want, let us know!.

For review, share the cut in a secure Review Link for external clients to comment and approve. Your coworkers can also comment directly in the sequence, which you’ll see pop up live as they create them. For more information about sharing and review, click here.

Once the edit is done, export it and the render engine will create a final video file for you. Then you can Publish it to an endpoint linked to your account like YouTube.

Everyone on the same page

With the platform as your single source of truth, everyone on your team (including your clients) will be on the same page. Everyone sees the same content, the same metadata, the same edit, and the same exports, from anywhere in the world, in their web browser.

Try it for free and let us know what you think! We’re constantly improving the platform and adding new features, filters, transitions, publishing destinations, and more. We’d love to hear how you’d like to see the platform evolve!

Axledit Collaborative Video Editing – Browser Based Editing

With remote work becoming the norm and teams becoming increasingly separated by geography, it’s important for teams to use the best tools to keep their creative pipelines running smoothly. Footage needs to be secure, everyone needs to access it, and editing needs to be a fast moving collaboration.

Traditionally, this meant shipping hard drives, uploading to the cloud only to download later, and using a mix of a bunch of services to make post production happen. Thankfully, there’s a better solution that handles the headaches of the entire post production process, in one easy-to-use platform.

The Revolutionary Video Platform

We built the platform to be easy to use, accessible from anywhere, and highly secure. It takes care of the entire process of editing, from uploading and editing, to reviewing and publishing. The best part is you can do it all from the same place, in a web browser.

For more information about media management, click here.

Uploads are super fast, thanks to our multi-part acceleration. Once uploaded, videos are transcoded for web playback, and anyone with permission (granted in the Workspace settings) can view, comment, and edit the files.

You can share files for review in Review Links, where external clients can comment, approve, and download (if permitted) the files. You can see a full report of everything everyone has done in the review link.

The best feature, however, is the ability to edit your videos right from the same web browser. No plugins needed, and you don’t have to download any editing software. Simply create a new sequence and start editing.

Here’s how to edit a video in your browser:

  1. Log in, and navigate to a folder in the Files view.
  2. Drag and drop any videos you want to edit from your computer into the Files view
  3. Once they are uploaded, the transcode pipeline will make versions that can be streamed for playback
  4. Create a new sequence (New > Sequence), right click it, and select “Edit”
  5. Once your videos are transcoded, you can drag and drop them into the sequence and start editing them together
  6. Video edits are frame-accurate, and will play back smoothly while you work.
  7. Once you’re done with the edit, you can click the ... menu in the upper left of the sequence panel, and choose Export > Video to create a high-bitrate mp4 of your sequence.

Your team can comment on your edit while you go, and can even help out with some of the edits. You’ll see the changes live as they make them, just like Google docs.

When the video is done and exported, you can automatically publish the video to social media such as YouTube. You can connect publishing destinations in the Workspace settings, and then publish to them by right-clicking videos and choosing Publish.

Give it a try, and see how much time it can save you and/or your team. And let us know what you think!

Happy editing.
